About me
Hello, I'm Vicki, a fully qualified counsellor (Prof.Dip Psy C) and member of the NCPS (MNCPS Acc).
Times can feel hard, like that feeling when you can’t see light at the end of the tunnel, or when you can’t switch the negative thoughts off, or when the stress feels too much, or that no-one understands what you’re going through. Carrying these feelings can be heavy and make us feel like we’re facing an uphill battle, and all we want is for someone to ask ‘how are you really feeling?’
Through counselling, we can explore how you’re feeling, work through what thoughts may be troubling you, and talk about life’s challenges in a compassionate and warm space. Our working relationship will help you feel safe and at ease as we explore what's brought you to counselling, and bring focus on to you and how you’re feeling. Counselling is a space where you can think and feel how you want to, and be authentically and unapologetically you with no judgement, allowing you to navigate your way both in and out of the therapy room.
I draw on a number of approaches to ensure we work with exactly what you need in the moment to make you feel heard and put you at the centre of our sessions. Our sessions will be predominantly person-centred, allowing you the space to be seen and listened to, with CBT and psychodynamic woven in where or when it may be right for you. I believe a one step approach doesn’t work for everyone, so we will always go with what works for you.
Starting therapy and choosing a counsellor can feel daunting, so I offer a free 20 minute introductory call, either online or by phone, to give you the chance to meet me so you may get a feel as to how we could work together, and ask any questions you may have about me or my practice. I work weekdays during the day and some evenings, both online and in person.
Please do get in touch however you feel comfortable, by text message, phone call or email, if you would like to arrange your free introductory call to see how we could work together.
