About me

My name is Vicky Aykroyd. I am a fully trained, qualified counsellor, based in Birmingham. I offer a safe, confidential space to work through difficulties you are facing and help you to move forward with the life you want to lead.

From my base in Birmingham, I work with people from all walks of life and backgrounds, coming to me with all kinds of issues. I work from a Complementary Health Clinic in Harborne. I also offer counselling online, using Zoom.

I am an integrative counsellor which means I use a range of approaches and techniques in order to tailor my way of working to take account of your unique needs and preferences. I do not believe in a one size fits all approach.

As a qualified counsellor, I am an individual member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, and abide by their Ethical Framework.

I am always happy to arrange an initial assessment to discuss the reasons you are thinking of coming to counselling, whether it could be helpful for you and whether I am the right therapist to help. Please message me and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
