About me
I practise as an integrative counsellor, drawing upon a range of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Transactional Analysis (TA), person-centred, and psychodynamic modalities. This integrative approach enables me to tailor therapy to the individual needs of each client.
I work with adults presenting with a range of mental health difficulties, including addiction, depression, generalised anxiety disorder, stress-related difficulties, obsessive–compulsive disorder (OCD), relationship issues, loss and change, anger management and emotional regulation.
I believe effective therapy supports greater self-understanding, emotional balance, and healthier relationships. My approach is grounded and thoughtful, with a focus on helping you feel more at ease with yourself and your life. I see it as a privilege when someone chooses to share their experiences with me, and I hold this with care and respect.
I work within clear professional and ethical boundaries and in accordance with the BACP/NCPS Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions. Counselling is offered within a formal contract that outlines confidentiality, its limits, session structure, fees, and cancellation arrangements.
I undertake regular clinical supervision in line with BACP/NCPS requirements to ensure safe, ethical, and effective practice. I am committed to ongoing professional development and engage in continual professional development (CPD) to maintain and enhance my clinical skills and theoretical knowledge.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and am currently working towards my Level 5 Practitioner Accredited Qualification. I am a trauma-informed therapist.
Although I work with a range of mental health difficulties, addiction is a key area of my practice.
I have experience working as a counsellor within an addiction recovery service, as well as volunteering with the Addiction Treatment Programme at The Priory Hospital. I support clients to work towards recovery goals while also exploring associated and non-addiction-related trauma. Alongside therapeutic work, I place importance on helping clients understand the psychological and physical processes involved in addiction, supporting them to reduce guilt and shame and move towards more sustainable recovery.
Before retraining as a counsellor, I spent many years working as a broker in the City of London and abroad. This involved long hours, high levels of responsibility, and constant pressure to perform. Through this experience, I developed a clear understanding of the impact that demanding professional roles can have on mental health, relationships, and overall wellbeing. I recognise how burnout, anxiety, and a sense of disconnection can develop over time in high-pressure environments, and I bring this understanding into my therapeutic work.
Whatever you bring into the therapy room, my aim is to offer a thoughtful, supportive space where we can work together towards greater clarity, resilience, and wellbeing.
