About me

I am an accredited BACP counsellor and having worked in care since 1996 I have always known this is my passion and vocation to help and support people whether singularly, couples or families in need.

I worked in the NHS Mental Health system for over 20 years and met some wonderful people over the years who have enriched my life and  I was looking to change the role I was doing, counselling became the way forward for me.

I provide purely online services at this time via voice or video calls and have a variety of platforms to accommodate most peoples needs. I do have plans in 2025 to offer some face to face as well.

I have run training and experience alongside each other to enhance my knowledge, skills develop my empathic approach and offer an honest and non judgemental counselling service to all who seek me out.

I know we are all individuals, sharing similar and different routes in life. We are on a journey and sometimes we become lost, stuck, anxious and question lots of things in our lives. For me offering a Person-Centred approach where you are the lead in the sessions, you are the one who changes where you go from here, is the way to offer autonomy and empower the client(s) to work on themselves and their problems and leave my sessions with positivity and a new found strength for the future.

I also offer CBT when this feels the most appropriate and in the best interests of the client and this can help with structure, routines and connecting with your mind and body in a deeper and bonding way.

Self Worth Self Esteem Self Belief - come start your journey with me and embrace a new world and a new sense of purpose and self.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
