About me

My name is Valeriia, and I am a qualified psychotherapist with a profound passion for helping individuals navigate life’s challenges and uncover their inner strength. My experience spans working with people of all ages and from diverse backgrounds, allowing me to connect with clients in meaningful and supportive ways.

You might wonder, “Can you fix me?” My answer is no—because there is nothing about you that needs fixing. I believe each person is inherently unique, and sometimes we simply need a safe, supportive space to express what’s on our minds. As your therapist, I am dedicated to providing that space for you. My approach isn’t about giving advice, but rather guiding you to explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. My goal is to help you gain a deeper understanding of yourself, recognizing that you know yourself better than anyone, even in moments when it doesn’t seem that way.

Currently, I offer online and phone counseling services, with plans to expand to in-person sessions soon. In addition, I provide Walk & Talk therapy, which can be customized to suit your preferences and comfort level. This approach offers a dynamic alternative to traditional therapy,  blending the benefits of physical movement with therapeutic conversation.

I have extensive experience addressing a wide range of issues, including low self-esteem, feelings of being overwhelmed, anxiety, depression, and bereavement. Having personally experienced the challenges of relocation as an expat, I have a special focus on supporting expats, immigrants, and nomads as they adjust to new environments and cultures.

In addition, I have a deep personal connection to working with bereaved parents and families, having experienced baby loss myself. This gives me a unique understanding and empathy, and I am profoundly committed to offering compassionate support to those who are learning to navigate life after loss.

As a therapist, my mission is to create a nurturing environment where you feel heard, understood, and supported. Together, we can work towards healing, self-discovery, and growth.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a Master's Degree in Person-Centered Experiential Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of Nottingham, complemented by a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Sociology from Nottingham Trent University.

I have accrued over 300 hours of hands-on experience at a private in-patient mental health facility in Cape Town, South Africa.

As an accredited psychotherapist with the National Counselling Society, I bring over 200 hours of counselling experience and two years of dedicated practice to my work.
