About me
I'm a person-centred counsellor offering face-to-face and online sessions. I want to offer you a calm space where you feel safe to bring whatever is troubling you. I will meet you with genuine openness and interest, so you feel truly heard and valued.
From this, I am hoping to build with you a trusting therapeutic relationship where you can openly express yourself without fear of judgment. I strongly believe that this is key to therapeutic success.
In my practice, person-centred counselling is more than a method: it is a philosophy that prioritises your perspective and values. You are the expert of your own life. My role is to walk alongside you - at a pace that feels comfortable and safe to you - as you explore your feelings, thoughts and challenges. You might be feeling overwhelmed, lost or hurt by painful or traumatic life experiences or seeking greater self-awareness and self-confidence, or a way out of depression and anxiety. By creating a warm and accepting space, I empower you to delve into your inner world with confidence, knowing that your experiences are valued and respected.
I believe that you possess an inherent capacity for growth and self-healing. By supporting you in identifying and harnessing your inner strengths, I aim to help you uncover solutions that resonate with your authentic self, so you feel you can take on life’s challenges with greater control and confidence.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have a Post-Graduate Diploma (Level 7) in Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of Cumbria, which is an approved training provider.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work according to their ethical guidelines and principles. See www.bacp.co.uk for more information.
I am an Internal Family Systems (IFS) informed practitioner and am working towards further qualifications in IFS therapy.
I have been working with several charitable organisations offering counselling for people with a broad range of issues, such as terminal illness, loss, grief and bereavement, depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, abuse and trauma.
Before becoming a counsellor, I worked in the educational sector as a researcher and teacher in Linguistics and German as a Foreign Language. I’ve worked with young people from primary school to university age and still carry that passion for accompanying people on their life’s journey.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
