About me

Hello, thank you for taking the time to look at my profile.

Are you struggling with anxiety, trauma, bereavement, low self esteem, sadness, anger issues, relationship or workplace issues? I have over 20 years of experience as a counsellor, and I have worked people from all walks of life, with a variety of issues. Perhaps you aren't quite sure whether you need counselling, or how it might help you. It's not unusual to feel this way. With all new clients, I suggest an initial consultation where we can talk things through, and explore how counselling might help you.

I understand that making that first step to find a counsellor can be daunting. Maybe you haven't talked about your thoughts or feelings before. I offer a safe, confidential place where you can talk about the issues that are important to you.

Counselling is very much a two way process. As a counsellor, whilst I can't give you the answers, I can support you in navigating your way through any challenges, or dificulties you might be facing.

I often find it helps to look at the reasons behind our thought's, feelings, and behaviours. Once we know why, or how something happens then we can look at finding a solution. Maybe you are feeling anxious? Together we can look at what causes the anxiety, stress, trauma, anger, or sadness.

Maybe you are struggling with relationships either with a family member, friend, work colleague? I can support you in exploring your relationships with others, and how can be improved.

Perhaps you are a concerned parent who has a child needing support? I have many years experience of supporting children, and families. I can work alongside you, to help support them through any emotional challenges they face. PLEASE NOTE, I AM ONLY EVER ABLE TO WORK WITH CHILDREN IF THEY ARE IN AGREEMENT THEY WOULD LIKE TO SPEAK TO SOMEONE.

I have experience of working with people from various walks of life. Some of the situations I have worked with include:

  • self esteem issues/confidence issues

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
