About me

About Me

You may be feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stuck or disconnected from yourself. Perhaps you’re struggling with low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, grief, life changes, or carrying the impact of experiences that continue to affect your life. You may look like you’re coping on the outside, yet inside feel exhausted, lost or unsure how to move forward.

I am an accredited member of the BACP and work as a Humanistic Counsellor, Psychotherapist and Somatic Trauma-Informed Practitioner based in Bournemouth, Dorset.

My approach to therapy is relational, meaning I view the therapeutic relationship we build together as collaborative and at the heart of the work we do. It is built on trust, rapport and genuine human connection. I work on the ethos that all expectations can be placed at the door and that all parts of you are welcome.

I believe we naturally move towards growth, healing and fulfillment when given the right conditions. However, life experiences, relationships and challenges can sometimes leave us feeling stuck, disconnected or overwhelmed.

Together, we will explore both your present experience and the factors that have shaped it. We will reflect on what has led you here, what may be keeping you here and what moving forward could look like. Through greater self-awareness, we can begin to understand the patterns, beliefs and experiences that influence how you relate to yourself, others and the world around you.

My work is informed by a trauma-aware and somatic understanding of human experience. I believe our experiences are held not only in our thoughts but also within the body. Alongside talking therapy, I may bring awareness to the nervous system, emotional regulation, breath, mindfulness and the ways in which the body communicates what words often cannot. Sometimes the work is not about finding new answers, but about developing a deeper understanding of yourself.

I offer face-to-face counselling, online therapy and Walk & Talk therapy. Some people find being outdoors and in nature supports reflection, grounding and emotional wellbeing alongside the therapeutic process.

I have worked with We Are With You Drug and Alcohol Services, within a university setting, and currently work for Dorset Mind supporting children and young people through community-based GP referral pathways.

Therapy can be challenging. It asks for honesty, curiosity and a willingness to understand yourself more deeply. If you feel ready to begin that process, I would be honoured to support you.

How I Work

My approach is humanistic and therefore our work will be  unique and tailored to your individual needs.

I work both indoors and outdoors, offering more traditional face to face in my office space, Walk & Talk - which some people find grounding, and I also offer online.

Starting Therapy

I offer a free 20 minute introductory video call giving us the opportunity to discuss what has bought you to therapy, what you hope to gain and whether we feel like a good fit to work together.

There is no obligation to continue after this call.
