About me
Sometimes things happen in our lives that feel overwhelming and yet the decision to ask someone for help can be a hard one.
At the heart of any talking therapy is the need to feel safe and comfortable enough to talk openly and honestly in order to share the things that have been troubling us and my aim is to offer a relaxed, warm and peaceful space in which to listen to you respectfully and carefully.
My role is not to advise but to help you explore the relevant areas of your life - past and present and your part in your relationships to understand any thoughts, feelings and challenging issues you are facing.
I am lucky enough to have worked with a wide variety of people and issues in over 10 years as a qualified counsellor. My experience ranges from helping children aged between 11 - 24 in a government funded adolescent agency to my private practice in Surrey where I did my training and lived until Sept 2015.
I work as an integrative counsellor, which means that I am able to draw on several models of therapy. We are all different in the way that we think, feel, process and communicate and the integrative style of working (including humanistic, psychodynamic, Gestalt, CBT and also hypnotherapy) allows me to adapt my approach to suit the needs of the individual.
I believe it is of the utmost importance to choose a counsellor that you connect with, therefore I offer a free 30 minute first session that you can use to ask questions and see how you feel about us continuing together. There is no obligation to continue after this first session but I hope that you will feel relaxed enough to want to.
Please feel free to contact me for a preliminary chat on the phone.
