About me
Hello, I'm Tracy and I would like to give you the chance to see if I'm the right counsellor for you by offering you a 30 minute free phone consultation.
I work with clients who have suffered loss, through bereavement, childlessness not by choice, relationship issues, loss of self esteem , anxiety and depression.
I'm passionate about creating a warm and trusting connection with my clients. I will be alongside you, no matter what you are going through.
It can be overwhelming trying to choose the right person among so many therapists listed here, but I would encourage you to contact a few, arrange some phone calls and get a feel for who feels right. You won't know until you try. I really look forward to hearing from you, I'm ready to listen.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have studied Level 3 Counselling Skills, followed by a 2 year Diploma in Humanistic and Gestalt Counselling. I have studied CBT, and may if appropriate use some CBT tools, but I am primarily a Gestalt counsellor. This means look at the whole of your experience and what has and is happening to you, but it is how it affecting you in the here and now which will be the focus of our work together. You are more than the sum of your parts.
I may use some creative tools to help you explore your thoughts, feelings and sensations. We may use objects, art, or other methods to help you understand your situation, find solutions to your concerns, or to aid in your progression towards a more contented and fulfilled life.
Alongside my private practice, I volunteer in a charity which helps those going through bereavement and loss. My experience of grief work is one of immense privilege to be trusted to witness the great love and terrible loss which accompany the death of a loved one. Grief is a road that we all will travel along at some point in our lives, and if this is where you are right now, then I am here to walk some of it with you.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
