About me
Hi, I'm Tracey and I am an experienced integrative counsellor and play therapist working with both adults and young people aged 14 and over. I offer counselling to individuals on a one-to-one basis with the flexibility of both daytime and evening appointments in a comfortable dedicated ground floor counselling room which is located in the centre of Whalley. I am a registered member of both BACP and ACC, adhering to their code of ethics in all aspects of my work. I bring a wide range of skills, specialist training and experience to my practice, and place particular importance on the interpersonal, therapeutic relationship between counsellor and client, and the unique value of each individual. I offer the warmth, respect and acceptance necessary in exploring life's issues within a safe and nurturing therapeutic environment.
As an integrative therapist, I am able to draw upon interventions from other approaches such as Transactional Analysis and Gestalt Therapy in order to maximise the benefit of the therapeutic experience for each individual.
I have had extensive training, and have a particular interest in working in the areas of both crisis pregnancy, post abortion stress, infertility and baby loss. In addition to this, over the 10 plus years I have been practicing as a therapist, I have worked with a wide and varied range of life issues including depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, sexual abuse, emotional and spiritual abuse, relationship problems, childhood issues, bereavement and loss and post traumatic stress.
As a therapist, I am passionate about helping people realise their full potential, and to become the people they were designed to be. I offer a relational approach to the counselling sessions, believing that a healthy therapeutic relationship can have the potential to aid the healing of hurts and to foster authenticity in a person.
I appreciate how difficult it can be to ask for help when things are getting too much. Do feel free to get in touch. I offer an initial free of charge 30 minute appointment for anyone who would like to explore the possibility of undertaking counselling.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
