About me

Are you exhausted from carrying everyone else's needs, struggling with anxiety, or feeling disconnected from yourself?  I support women experiencing anxiety, low self-esteem, trauma, bereavement, post-natal depression and difficult life transitions.

Thanks for taking a moment to look at my profile.  Finding a counsellor can feel a bit unnerving, especially when life is overwhelming. I hope what you read here helps you feel a little more settled.

I'm a counsellor and clinical supervisor based in Gosforth. I work exclusively with women, offering a calm, steady space where you can breathe out, slow down, and be  yourself, warts and all!

My approach is warm, trauma‑informed, and down‑to‑earth. We go at your pace — no pressure, no performance. We simply start where you are and go from there.

Sessions might involve talking, grounding, creativity, or occasionally laughing at the sheer chaos of life. Whatever helps you feel safe, seen, and supported is where we’ll begin.

Why counselling helps:

When someone comes to counselling, it’s never because they’re ‘broken’. It’s because life has thrown something at them that deserves time, space, and support — and they’re finally giving themselves permission to pause.

Counselling offers something rare: a calm, private space that’s just for you.  A place to unpack your emotional suitcase (the one we all pretend isn’t overflowing) without feeling judged, rushed, or expected to “hold it all together”.

Who I work with and how:

I offer sessions in-person for the women I work with and each one lasts around 50 minutes. You’re welcome to come for as long as you need  — whether that’s a handful of sessions or a longer stretch. No pressure, no performance. Just two humans figuring things out at a pace that doesn’t make your nervous system roll its eyes!

My original training was in person‑centred therapy, which is all about offering a warm, accepting space where you feel heard and understood. I also draw on CBT, Solution‑Focused therapy, and other approaches, blending them in a way that supports your individual needs and pace.

If you enjoy working creatively, we can bring in clay, paint, imagery, or other mediums. Creativity can be a gentle way to explore thoughts and emotions when words feel too big or too small.

Areas I support women with:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression, including post-natal depression
  • Bereavement and loss
  • Trauma
  • Low self-esteem

This isn’t an exhaustive list as  life doesn’t fit neatly into bullet points, so please feel free to get in touch if you’d like to know more.

My journey:

Life hasn't always been straightforward for me - but that's the nature of being human isn't it?  I've experienced post-natal depression, general anxiety, loss and bereavement.  These experiences gave me a real understanding of how powerful counselling can be, and they were the catalyst for changing career and training as a counsellor. They help me meet women with empathy, honesty, and a deep respect for the courage it takes to reach out.

Next steps:

If you’re curious about counselling or just want to see whether we’re a good fit, feel free to get in touch. I offer a free 15‑minute chat to ask any questions you have. It's a lovely way to introduce ourselves.  If you’d prefer to go ahead and book a full appointment, that’s where we’ll explore your reasons for coming to counselling.  I’ll get back to your enquiry as soon as I can. If you don’t see a reply, please check your spam folder just in case it’s landed there.
