About me
I've 30-years practice within mental health, including 11 years working in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) informed practice. Also, I'm trained in eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy.
I work part-time in the NHS as an accredited cognitive behavioural psychotherapist, treating common mental health disorders (depression and anxiety related issues as well as trauma-related problems). I'm able to assess for and have successfully treated all common mental health disorders and within NHS services have delivered CBT-informed practice when working with severe and enduring mental health problems as well as addictions, or a combination of both. In treating addictions I am able to offer evidence based interventions such as motivational interviewing or social behavioural network support.
I've a specialist interest in neurodiversity and able to offer pragmatic support in stress management related to these presentations, as reflected in daily life. I also work for a private medical practice that offers ASD and ADHD assessment.
Within private practice my hope is to offer you a person-centred approach but with the use of classical CBT interventions, knowledge and skills as well as EMDR to enable your efforts towards your goals in relation to managing any mental health concerns.
