About me

Life can feel overwhelming, exhausting, or difficult to make sense of. Perhaps you're navigating anxiety, emotional distress, burnout, or relationship difficulties. Maybe past experiences continue to affect you, or you've spent so long trying to meet expectations that you've lost touch with your own needs. Whatever brings you to counselling, you don't have to work through everything alone.

At Clear Current Counselling, I offer a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental space where you can slow down, feel heard and begin to make sense of your experiences. As an integrative counsellor, I work collaboratively with you, recognising that there is no single approach that works for everyone. I draw on person-centred therapy, CBT-informed techniques and psychodynamic perspectives, adapting our work to your individual needs, preferences and goals. Where appropriate, we can also explore creative and experiential ways of understanding your feelings and experiences.

A neurodivergent-affirming and trauma-informed approach

I am committed to providing an inclusive, neurodivergent-affirming and trauma-informed space. Whether you're autistic, have ADHD, identify as AuDHD, are exploring your neurodivergence, or experiencing burnout, you are welcome as you are. You don't need to mask, communicate in a particular way, or explain every aspect of your experience to be understood. There is space for different communication styles, movement, stimming, fidgeting, quiet pauses and creative expression.

I work with adults and young people aged 11 and over, offering:

  • In-person counselling: Face-to-face sessions in a private space at The Corner in Ramsgate.
  • Online counselling: Secure video sessions for clients across the UK.
  • Walk and Talk therapy: Counselling outdoors in local natural surroundings.

My aim is to offer a therapeutic relationship in which you feel respected, understood, and supported to explore whatever matters to you, at a pace that feels manageable.

Relevant professional experience

Adult counselling and private practice

I deliver integrative counselling to adults experiencing complex emotional difficulties, anxiety, low mood, trauma and challenging life experiences. My work includes initial assessments, ongoing risk assessment, collaborative therapeutic goal-setting and maintaining appropriate professional boundaries, supported by clinical supervision.

Young people and school-based support

Through my work with Place2Be and We Are With You, I have supported children and young people with emotional regulation, anxiety, low self-esteem, family difficulties and mental health challenges. My experience includes individual therapeutic work, group interventions, safety planning, safeguarding and supporting young people to develop coping strategies and emotional resilience.

Childline and specialist support

My experience with Childline involved providing counselling support to young people across the UK through email, responding sensitively to disclosures and safeguarding concerns. I have also worked in family support, helping parents and carers navigate challenges affecting their children's wellbeing, including support relating to autism and ADHD assessments.

My broader experience includes supporting children with additional needs, working with families and contributing to therapeutic activities in rehabilitation settings.

These experiences inform my understanding of how relationships, life experiences, family dynamics and individual needs can influence emotional wellbeing.

The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

Taking the first step towards counselling can feel daunting, particularly if you're unsure what to expect or how to explain what you're experiencing.

I offer a free 15-minute initial phone or video consultation. This is an opportunity to ask questions, share a little about what brings you to counselling, and get a sense of whether we might be a good fit. There's no pressure or obligation to continue.

Accessibility and individual needs

I recognise that everyone experiences and communicates differently. If you have sensory needs, communication preferences, or physical accessibility requirements, you're welcome to let me know beforehand. Where possible, we can make adjustments to help you feel comfortable and supported.

You don't need to arrive with the right words or a clear plan. We can begin wherever you are.
