About me

Specialist EMDR & CBT Therapist | Trauma, Anxiety & PTSD | Epsom & Online

I work with adults who are struggling internally — even when everything looks fine on the outside.

My clients often say:

  • "I understand why I feel this way, but that understanding hasn't made it stop."
  • "Talking therapy helped, but the anxiety is still there — in my body, not just my head."
  • "I want to actually feel better, not just learn to cope with it."

Many of my clients are capable, high-functioning people who are still going to work, managing their responsibilities, holding it together. But internally something has shifted — the usual ways of coping aren't working anymore, and the harder they push, the more stuck they feel. Often they've tried therapy before and found it helped up to a point, but didn't quite reach the layer underneath.

If that sounds familiar, you're in the right place.

What makes my approach different:

I'm both a BABCP Accredited CBT Therapist and an EMDR UK Accredited Practitioner with over 16,000 clinical hours across 20 years in the NHS and 8 years in private practice.

I trained at King's College London and worked in high-profile NHS trauma services, including as a specialist trauma clinician for the Grenfell NHS response service. I don't just understand trauma and anxiety academically — I've spent two decades helping people move through what's been holding them back.

My clients tend to be self-aware, motivated people who want to understand themselves properly and do real work. They're not looking to be rescued — they want a therapist who will work with their intelligence, not around it. Sessions are rigorous and warm. We often laugh. And people are frequently surprised by what shifts.

I specialise in:

Trauma & PTSD — single-incident trauma, childhood trauma, workplace trauma, PTSD and complex PTSD. EMDR is the gold standard for trauma treatment and is recommended by NICE and the NHS.
Anxiety — panic attacks, generalised anxiety, social anxiety, OCD, high-functioning anxiety and the kind of anxiety that lives in the body even when the mind understands it.
Work stress & burnout — for professionals who are signed off sick, struggling to function, or who've reached a point where pushing through isn't working anymore.

What clients say:

"EMDR therapy with Thulasi has genuinely changed my life. It has now been over a year since I completed therapy, and I am still noticing how it has helped me in everyday life. I hadn't realised how many coping mechanisms I had put in place that I no longer need." — PTSD Client

"I feel liberated of those fears. I'm now able to calm myself in situations and feel confident doing things I never thought I could do anymore. This has given me a new outlook on life and the ability to clear my mind of the noise." — Anxiety Client

"What I found most incredible was the space Thulasi created for me to transform past traumas with EMDR. This form of treatment is unquestionably the most effective and healing experience I've ever had." — EMDR Client

My approach:

I use two evidence-based therapies — EMDR and CBT — often in combination, tailored to each person.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing) works at a deeper level than talking therapy. It engages your brain's natural healing process to help reprocess memories that have become stuck in their raw, distressing form. You don't have to describe everything in detail — EMDR reaches the layer that thinking and talking alone often can't get to. Many clients come to me after finding that previous therapy helped intellectually but didn't shift how they feel in their body and in their life.

CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) is practical, present-focused and evidence-based. You'll leave each session with something tangible — tools you can use immediately, not just insight. I often combine CBT and EMDR, particularly where anxiety has roots in past experiences.

What to expect:

A free 15-minute consultation to discuss what you're experiencing and whether we're a good fit — no obligation, no pressure.

Sessions are 50 minutes, typically weekly, available in-person in Epsom or online across the UK. On average, clients work with me for around five months, though some find resolution sooner and others with more complex histories choose to work together longer.

My aim is genuine transformation, not just coping — to help you feel better as quickly as possible and leave you with tools for lasting independence.
