About me

I believe that within every challenge lies the potential for growth - much like an oyster transforms irritation into a pearl. This philosophy has guided my 20-year journey in psychology and therapy.

My path began as a CBT therapist in the NHS, working with people facing anxiety, trauma, and life's most difficult moments. As a Tamil speaker, I've helped asylum seekers and refugees overcome complex PTSD imprinted by war experiences, witnessing remarkable recovery even from severe psychological injuries.

While leading psychology teams in management roles, I noticed the irony that even psychology services weren't applying psychological principles to create healthier workplaces. This revelation led me to study organisational psychology, expanding my practice to address both individual healing and workplace wellbeing.

Working with the original Grenfell NHS Team and establishing an NHS staff wellbeing service during the pandemic deepened my understanding of trauma's impact across diverse contexts and communities.

At Mind Oyster, I integrate clinical expertise with organisational insight to help you transform challenges into strengths. My commitment is helping you overcome difficulties, regain control, and feel like yourself again in a supportive therapeutic environment - not just coping, but truly thriving.

Training, qualifications & experience

Experience
I understand that seeking therapy is often a brave step taken when you're feeling most vulnerable. If you're struggling with trauma, anxiety, or work stress that feels overwhelming, know that freedom from these challenges is possible.

Over my 20 years in the NHS, I've guided hundreds of people who initially felt trapped but discovered their capacity for healing. Through senior clinical leadership positions, I've witnessed first hand how the right therapeutic approach transforms lives.

My dual background as both a Psychotherapist and Business Psychologist gives me unique insight into how trauma and anxiety affect your personal wellbeing and professional life - particularly valuable for clients caught between work demands and personal struggles.

The pain you're experiencing can feel isolating, but many clients have shared similar feelings before finding relief through our work. Whether previous therapy hasn't reached deep enough or you're seeking help for the first time, my approach addresses both immediate distress and root causes.

In our sessions, you'll experience structured, evidence-based techniques balanced with genuine connection. This isn't about temporary fixes—it's about equipping you with both insight and practical tools for lasting independence.

My consistent 5-star Google reviews reflect the transformation clients experience when they discover their authentic self and resilience - their pearl within.
