About me

Do you want things to change? I can help you live the life you want to.

What is counselling?

With counselling you can have a safe place where there is no judgement. This is the time for you to talk about what is important and tell your story. You can work at your pace and be listened to and respected by somebody who is honest and kind.

Your life can change for the better in big and small ways. Although it may not seem like it, there's a reason why you feel the way you do. Together we can understand what’s making you unhappy and change it.

How will I help you?

I have helped many clients deal with problems they’re facing right now as well as things from the past which weigh them down. I am trained in evidence-based therapies and we will tailor our work to suit your needs. I am a genuine, caring person and together we’ll work towards the life you want to live.

Get in touch

Beginning therapy can feel like a big step. That’s why I offer a free 20-minute call/online meeting for you to see if I am the right fit for you. Please get in touch and we can discuss what you would like to work on.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • I have a Diploma in Counselling Practice which qualifies me to work as a counsellor and to help you.
  • I have worked with clients from 19-70 years old on a range of issues from depression and anxiety to trauma and relationship issues.
  • I worked in business for many years and so I understand the pressure that professional work involves, particularly working from home.
  • I have run a befriending service in Sheffield and volunteered with asylum seekers, giving me an understanding of how we all face different personal challenges which are equally important.
  • I have also conducted research into the therapeutic relationship to help me understand how best to help you in a way that is supported by evidence.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
