About us

We are a non profit community interest company (CIC) with the aim of providing affordable short term and long term counselling both in person and online.

Training, qualifications & experience

All of our counsellors are members of the UKCP, BACP or NCPS and are either fully qualified or completing supervised training. Our trainee counsellors have had comprehensive theoretical training and completed many hours of skills before being signed off to begin counselling people.  Depending on their training course and college/university they have to complete between 100-450 hours of 1:1 counselling in order to qualify.  Therapists that are qualified have completed courses at varying levels of 4 - 7 and commit to ongoing CPD. All counsellors are mentored, supervised and managed by a team of experienced therapists.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

If you would like to book an appointment we offer a one hour assessment for £20. The assessment is with an experienced therapist and is then reviewed by the counselling manager. This is to ensure that we have therapists suitable to work with you and an opportunity for you to state what you are wanting from your therapist. If we are able to offer you appointments we aim to begin your therapy within 4-8 weeks of your assessment.
