About me
Feeling anxious, disconnected, or stuck? You don’t have to struggle alone.
Hi, I’m Tess, and I’m an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist based in Sheffield. I am committed to an attentive and authentic counselling relationship, which prioritises your individuality.
You may be navigating trauma, anxiety, grief, relationship problems, or life transitions that have left you feeling lost and confused. When things feel overwhelming, therapy can help you understand your experiences and move towards greater self-acceptance and a more peaceful way of being.
My approach is always client-centred and grounded in trauma-informed care. My mission is to empower you to share your story and explore your thoughts and emotions in a safe and supportive environment. I believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship to help you access your inner resources and feel able to cope with life’s challenges as they arise.
My dedicated therapy room is surrounded by trees with beautiful rural views. The healing and grounding power of nature will be an ever-changing companion to our work. If you are ready to find more clarity, calm, and reconnection in your life, then please contact me, and we can arrange a free 15-minute telephone consultation.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist with a Professional Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work in line with their rigorous ethical standards, as outlined in their ethical framework.
I have particular experience supporting survivors of domestic abuse, childhood abuse, and complex trauma. I have also worked with a wide range of other issues, including physical illness, identity and sexuality, discrimination, relationship difficulties, family dynamics, parenting anxiety, confidence and self-esteem, anxiety and depression, loss and bereavement, alcohol misuse, shame, self-harm, and suicidality.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
As an integrative therapist, I can draw on a range of therapeutic approaches to meet your individual needs. My practice is rooted in a strong client-centred ethos, so our work will be collaborative and tailored to you. You will remain in control of your therapeutic journey throughout.
I work with warmth and compassion, offering a supportive and respectful space where you can share your story, deepen your self-understanding, and find meaningful ways to move forward. I believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship to help you access your inner resources and feel able to cope with life’s challenges as they arise.
My approach is trauma-informed and may include psychoeducation, creative techniques, and mindfulness where these are helpful. I also believe that connection to the natural world is important for wellbeing. My dedicated therapy room is located in a peaceful woodland garden. Surrounded by trees and with views across the Loxley Valley, the space offers a calm and private setting for our work.
I work with adults aged 18 and over from all gender identities, sexualities, races, nationalities, cultures, and beliefs. I also have experience supporting neurodivergent clients. I recognise the wider social contexts that shape people’s lives and seek to acknowledge how oppression and discrimination can affect mental health and wellbeing.
