About me
I'm Teresa, a qualified Integrative Counsellor and registered member of the BACP, offering counselling for adults aged 18+ online, by telephone and in person.
I have a particular passion for supporting adults who feel they've lost touch with who they are. Whether this follows bereavement, relationship issues, becoming an empty nester, family difficulties, career uncertainty, or years of putting everyone else's needs before their own, many of my clients come to therapy feeling emotionally disconnected, stuck, or unsure of who they are beyond the roles they've carried.
Some clients also come to therapy carrying the impact of early family experiences, such as not feeling emotionally heard, understood or emotionally valued growing up. Perhaps you learnt from a young age to cope on your own, put your own needs aside, or seek acceptance from others. These experiences can shape self-esteem, relationships, confidence and the way we see ourselves. Together, we can gently explore these patterns, helping you develop a greater understanding of yourself and reconnect with your own needs, values and sense of self.
My role is to support you as you reconnect with yourself. Together, we'll explore your experiences, understand the patterns that may have shaped how you see yourself, and create space for you to rediscover your confidence, values and direction. Therapy isn't about becoming someone different—it's about reconnecting with the person you've always been beneath life's experiences and expectations.
I offer a warm, empathic and non-judgemental space where you can feel safe to explore whatever is on your mind. I believe healing happens within a trusting therapeutic relationship, where you feel genuinely heard, understood and accepted.
As an Integrative Counsellor, I draw upon a range of therapeutic approaches to meet your individual needs. My work is grounded in person-centred values while integrating approaches such as CBT, mindfulness and exploring how past experiences and relationships continue to influence your present life. I have a growing professional interest in life transitions, attachment and sense-of-self work, which naturally complements my integrative approach.
Alongside this, I also support clients experiencing:
- Anxiety and panic attacks
- Depression and low mood
- Low confidence and self-esteem
- Bereavement and loss
- Family and relationship difficulties
- Cultural issues
- Loneliness
If you're considering counselling, you're welcome to contact me by phone, text or email. I offer a free initial telephone conversation to answer any questions you may have and help us decide whether I'm the right counsellor for you before arranging an initial 50-minute session.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
