About me

Hi there,

Thanks for viewing my page. Here is a little bit about what I offer. If you would like to find out more please send me an email and I will respond to you as soon as I can. Taking the first step can often be the hardest part so I will do my best to make the process as simple as possible.

I provide a warm, non-judgemental and confidential therapeutic relationship where we can identify and explore area's in your life that you would like to improve. Some possible improvements include: relationships, reducing depression or anxiety, working through trauma, finding clarity, exploring and discovering parts of the self, gaining insight an awareness, etc.

Therapeutic Approach

My integrative approach to therapy draws from several different schools of thought such as:

  • Humanistic Therapy
  • Experiential Therapy
  • Transactional analysis
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

What I offer

The first steps will involve a free consultation lasting 30 minutes. This is an opportunity to discuss what brings you to therapy and to look at your hopes for therapy.

I offer short term and long term therapy. This means that we could work on a focused issue for a certain number of sessions, or to use an open ended approach. This is something we can discuss in the consultation to explore what will work for you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have worked in mental health for 9 years. This has included working for a specialist NHS mental health service, Counselling for a charity and carrying out therapy using Cognitive behavioural therapy.

  • BA Humanistic Counselling
  • Cognitive behavioural therapy
  • Diploma in Humanistic Counselling
  • Certificate in counselling skills

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
