About me
Hello, I’m an experienced Counsellor based in Guildford. Taking the first step to finding the right support can be daunting. Whatever you're experiencing, be it anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship issues, bereavement, or simply feeling stuck, you don’t have to face life’s challenges alone.
My passion is supporting people to navigate difficult times, understand themselves more deeply, and find meaningful ways to move forward. I have a caring and non-judgemental approach and aim to create a safe space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences at your own pace.
I practice therapeutic counselling, focusing on how your past experiences might be influencing your current thoughts, feelings, and relationships. This approach might be right for you if you’re curious about understanding yourself on a deeper level. Together, we’ll look at patterns in your life—like relationships that don’t feel quite right, recurring struggles, or emotions that seem hard to shake. My aim is to help you uncover the roots of these issues, so you can approach them with new insight and find ways to move forward.
You don't need to have all the answers or specific goals; starting with a sense that something isn't right is enough. We'll work collaboratively to find the path that feels right for you.
Taking the Next Step
If you have any questions or would like to schedule an initial consultation, please don't hesitate to contact me. Together, we can determine how best to support you in your next steps towards greater understanding and well-being.
Training, qualifications & experience
As a qualified and registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I adhere to their professional standards and code of ethics. I hold an accredited qualification in Psychotherapeutic Counselling.
Beyond my private practice, I dedicate time to voluntary counselling work and have volunteered for Samaritans and other local mental health charities. This reflects my commitment to accessible support for everyone.
Prior to becoming a counsellor, I spent over 20 years working in the charity sector for major national children's and cancer care organisations.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information
Counselling is a deeply personal journey and finding the right fit is key. If you’d like to find out more, please get in touch to organise a free 20 minute telephone conversation to allow us to get to know each other.
If then you’d like to take the next step, we would book an initial 50 minute consultation. During this we'll explore the issues you’d like to focus on and the changes you’re hoping for. Together, we’ll discuss your options - whether that’s working for a set amount of time or taking a more open-ended, exploratory approach. I offer this session at half price.
Both of these are an opportunity for you to see if I'm the right person to support you. It’s your time to ask questions, understand what to expect, and make sure you feel comfortable before deciding to move forward.
