About me

Hi, I’m Talia, a counsellor offering a down-to-earth, neuro-affirming space to talk things through. I offer therapy from a quiet space in Walmer, Kent, as well as online sessions across the UK.

What might sessions with me feel like?

The direction for therapy is always led by you, but I usually find that the bigger picture is usually about gaining clarity. Clarity about where you are in life or what your experiences have been, and how you want to move forward.

I often think about therapy as a bit like sorting through a messy box together. It might contain your experiences and beliefs and patterns that have built up over time. Therapy can be a space to look at them piece by piece, and start making sense of them more clearly.

During sessions, I like to ask questions and offer reflections. Overall, it’s really important to me that therapy feels collaborative and like something we’re doing together.

Why people might come to therapy

You might be:

• Feeling flat, overwhelmed or disconnected from yourself, without really knowing why.

• Noticing that life has gradually become more stressful or exhausting, and it’s starting to catch up with you.

• Struggling with relationships, friendships or boundaries, and finding yourself stuck in patterns that keep repeating.

• Trying to make sense of loss, change or a life transition, and what that means for you moving forward.

• Questioning parts of your identity or trying to reconnect with yourself after becoming a parent, changes in health, burnout, or other big life shifts.

• Exploring whether you may be autistic or ADHD, or making sense of a diagnosis and how that fits into your life and experiences.

• Carrying things from the past that still seem to affect how you feel about yourself, other people, or the world around you.

Whatever the reason for therapy, or even if you’re not quite sure where to start, feel free to reach out to see whether working together might feel like the right support for you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
