About me
Life can be challenging and overwhelming. It can be helpful to be heard and for unhelpful thoughts and emotions to be expressed. An understanding can lead to growth and a sense of well-being. You can become the best version of yourself. As a qualified counsellor and hypnotherapist, I can help you to lead a more fulfilling life and improve self-worth and personal development.
I am a member of the National Counselling Society and I am trained in a number of counselling techniques, such as Person Centred, Gestalt and Transactional Analysis, Psychodynamic Therapy and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy to provide an integrative approach to counselling.
Life experiences and my experiences in previous role, particularly working for the police have enabled me to gain deep understanding of personal issues and to offer empathy and understanding on a wide range of health issues. I have a real understanding of the trauma of domestic abuse and rape and sexual abuse. I have a great deal of experience in this area.

Further information
As a parent myself (I have three children, including twins), I understand the challenges of parenthood and have personal experience of postnatal depression. I appreciate the connection between our childhood and how it affects our relationships in adulthood.
The relationship between the counsellor and the client is the most important aspect of counselling. Working collaboratively through trust and a tailored approach, it is possible to achieve positivity and avoid unwanted behaviour. It is incredibly rewarding to see the positive effect it has on clients. Through a safe, secure and positive setting, I have worked with a wide range of people who have various difficulties and can appreciate the courage it takes to take the first step. Whether it is a one-off session or longer-term therapy that you require, I will be guided by your needs. I offer telephone counselling. I offer regular supervision and attend regular training courses.
