About me

Do you have a sincere desire, and curiosity to know yourself better?

How do you retain your centre and balance despite your environment and the events happening around you?

Do you know…

When you do not recognise or acknowledge your worth, you break down your immune system.

When you criticise yourself or have self-doubt, you break down your immune system.

In the hectic and ever-changing world we inhabit, many of us feel unmoored looking for a safe haven. By establishing a healthier, more loving and trusting relationship with your body, you can encounter the safe haven you’ve been searching for.

You are home.

"To be fully alive, we need to cultivate the relationship with our body".

Dr Bessel Van Der Kolk, author of The Body Keeps the Score and an industry leader in studying and treating trauma.

Communicating your state of being in any moment, your body offers guidance via sensations, symptoms, posture, and movement. In our work together, with curious and non-judgemental eyes, you will be encouraged to explore this relationship, plus your inner landscape, behaviour, defences, attachment style, belief systems (mostly created when very young), you’re your relationship with others.

Self-awareness allows us to make more informed choices, generating improved mental, physical, and emotional health, and an integrated sense of well-being.

Further benefits include discovering the wisdom of your dreams, a deeper trust in your intuition, enhanced compassion & discernment, and living a more inspired and fulfilling life.

Our life experiences impact us in various ways, both positively and negatively, and with little awareness of the triggers, and who we truly are, they can determine the person we become and the relationships we form. Though you may feel overwhelmed and experiencing anxiety, low self-esteem, self-doubt, depression, or stress, or are simply curious, ‘Remember, Reconnect, and Reclaim’ who you truly are. You are a whole, creative, and unbroken being with an earthly & spiritual nature.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have been a practising psychotherapist since 1997, having trained at CCPE, (Centre for Counselling & Psychotherapy Education in London), and work one to one with adults.

I currently run face-to-face courses for groups in South London; ‘Remember, Reconnect and Reclaim YOU’, Qigong and Writing for Self-enquiry for adults, and ‘Me, You, Us’ for Toddlers with their primary caregiver. I also offer a monthly dream group ‘Explore Your Dreams’ on Meetup. (Please contact me for further information regarding any of these on-going courses).

I work online and from home, which is in a quiet Central London square close to London Bridge, with accessible controlled parking nearby and public transport.

My psychotherapy training was an integrative modality with a transpersonal element, incorporating a broad range of theories of psychology, psychotherapy, and models of development. I continue to study theories of psychology, bodywork, breathwork, as well as spiritual disciplines and Taoism, with renowned psychotherapists, philosophers, teachers, mystics, and authors who influence my own therapeutic journey. I attend workshops, seminars, & courses throughout the year, and my current studies include The Certificate Program in Traumatic Stress Studies with Dr Bessel van der Kolk.

My CPD, (Continuing Professional Development), has included studying Process Orientated Psychology, Narcissistic Relationships, Attachment theories, Experiential Anatomy, and Authentic Movement.

My movement practise is taiji, qigong and dance.

Dance has been an important aspect in my life, and for over four decades, I also taught dance and the performing arts to children & younger adults. I have an enhanced DBS.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Areas of counselling I deal with

Other areas of counselling I deal with

I am skilled in working with people who are in, or have been in, narcissistic relationships, and suffered trauma bonding and who would like to explore the deep affects this has had on their life, their interaction with the world, how they view themselves, and their life’s choices.

I also work with people who are interested in their dreams and curious about the guidance their dreams can give them.

How to begin

The primary contact can be made via phone, or email. Together we will decide a mutually agreed date and time for the initial session. (If required, a free 30 minute zoom or phone session is available.) Once you have decided to continue the therapeutic relationship, a client assessment form will be emailed to you and asked to be returned with payment, prior to the next session.

During the first psychotherapy session, I will inquire about current issues in your life, including what brings you to therapy at this point, and what you hope to achieve from being in therapy. Once you have discussed your presenting issues, we can decide on what basis you would like to proceed. A good therapeutic relationship between the therapist and client is essential for the therapy to be of benefit.

I have an interest in the following

  • The wisdom of The Body, be it symptoms, sensations, posture
  • Narcissistic personality disorder
  • Trauma bonding
  • Anxiety and Attachment disorders
  • Analysing The Dream, which has been immeasurably influenced by my own personal therapy with Anthony Lunt, and Anna Lunt.
  • Movement & Dance
  • Taiji & Qigong
