About me

Are feelings of anxiety bringing you down? Does it seem like other people have got their lives sorted out but you haven't? I have the expertise, as a therapist, to work with you to try and bring some understanding of what is going on.

Have you lost someone close and your life feels empty? Maybe you have relationship issues? Do you feel you have lost your way in life? Sometimes in life we need a bit of support. Counselling can be just what we need to get back some balance in our lives. Being able to talk through what's on our minds with a supportive, non judgemental counsellor can bring relief from our worries. It may also help us to embrace life in more creative ways.

Some of the issues that therapy is helpful for include low self esteem, stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, work related issues and bereavement.

I am a BACP Accredited and Registered Counsellor and  am experienced in counselling people who have a range of issues and problems. Therapy sessions are on the same day, at the same time, every week and last for 50 minutes and are confidential; I abide by the code of ethics of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.

Deciding to have counselling is sometimes a brave step, and I would be happy to talk through any concerns and questions during an initial session. This initial session will give you the opportunity to decide whether or not you would like to have the counselling that I have to offer. Both short term and open ended therapy are available.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
