About me
About Me
I am a person‑centred counsellor with over 10 years of experience, offering both short‑term and long‑term therapy. I understand that counselling can be a deeply personal, emotional and sometimes challenging process. That’s why finding the right counsellor — someone you feel safe enough to be vulnerable with — is so important.
Reaching out for support can feel daunting, so I offer a free 15‑minute initial video call. This gives you the chance to get a sense of me and decide whether I feel like the right fit for you.
We are all on our own unique journeys. People come to therapy at different stages and with different hopes for what they want to explore or change. Wherever you are on that path — whether you’re taking your first steps or wanting to deepen your self‑understanding — I will meet you there. My approach is grounded in acceptance, empathy and compassion, offered without judgement.
Therapy with me may involve:
Making sense of past experiences
Letting go of thoughts or feelings that no longer serve you
Exploring personal growth and self‑development
Building self‑compassion and care of self
Training, qualifications & experience
- BSc Psychology – Sheffield Hallam University
- Diploma in Person‑Centred Counselling & Psychotherapy – Temenos Education, Sheffield
- Supervision in the Helping Professions – University of Salford
I have extensive experience working in a trauma‑informed way with adult survivors of childhood sexual exploitation, including those affected by grooming gangs. My work focuses on supporting survivors in processing feelings of shame and self-blame, understanding that what happened was not their fault, and exploring how these experiences may have shaped their sense of self and relationships later in life.
I have also worked within the NHS, supporting adults diagnosed with autism later in life. Therapy offered a space for them to process their diagnosis, reflect on past experiences through the lens of being neurodivergent, and explore what this meant for their identity and self‑understanding.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
