About me

About me and my Ethos:

I believe in creating a good foundation for the work that we do. This means being honest, transparent, understanding, compassionate and not judging you on your past or life choices. We will work at your pace and in a collaborative manner.

When I work with clients, I listen with an educated ear, to help you break down those really messy and difficult feelings. I’m here to help you understand and manage these feelings. I truly believe that this mix builds a good therapeutic relationship, which is the key for effective therapy.

In our busy lives and with the difficult times we have all encountered over the past 2 years, I have gained experience in online work, so I am very confident in this way of working and can offer video and audio calls. So we can discuss any concerns you have about working in this way.

Do you need therapy?

Are you feeling lost? Trying to understand yourself better and make some changes, but feeling stuck and that your thoughts and behaviours are stopping you from making progress. Do you feel that your self esteem is stopping you from doing things that you have always wanted to do? Do you struggle with ‘I can’t’ thoughts that make you feel low in mood?

Do you wish you could put your needs first and not worry about everyone else’s? Do you often feel exhausted and not good enough? Does this leave you feeling angry and resentful? Do you often struggle to express how you feel to those around you?

Do you have a desire to change and want techniques to help you manage these situations better?

Are you ready for a change?

What I offer:

I work from a person-centred approach, which means I want to understand how you view your world, how your experiences have impacted your thoughts and beliefs. I would like to help you on your journey of recovery. Overall I want to help you achieve your goals and be more accepting of yourself. To be kinder and more compassionate towards yourself.

The CBT model of therapy has a way to help you change your thinking style, behaviour and feelings. It can also help improve your self esteem/ confidence and see things from a different perspective. This opens the door to choices and you having a better relationship with yourself.

Whether you have tried things in the past, but they haven’t worked or you really would like to speak to someone about gaining therapy, then please send me an email or call me for a free 20 minute chat to see if I can help you.

What to expect from your first session and beyond?

If you decide to work with me, our first couple of sessions will involve us completing an assessment, this provides me with a clearer picture of your life story and we can then discuss what goals you would like to work towards. From that point we will focus the work on helping you achieve these goals at your pace.

To provide you with a safe and confidential space to discuss your difficulties. So send an email or call me and we can have a chat about your needs and if I can help.
