About me

My clients describe me as supportive and easy  to talk to. As a counsellor with over 20 years experience I know that at times life can feel confusing and distressing. I have helped previous clients to address their concerns in a supportive and practical way. Talking to a counsellor  in a safe and confidential environment can assist you to understand what is happening, explore new ways of working and overall help you to improve your situation and emotional health. I work with a range of issues including stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties and have specialised in working with ill-health, loss and bereavement.

About me

I am a registered  member of the  United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapists (UKCP) and affiliated to the Regents School of Psychotherapy and Psychology.  I hold accredited qualifications in Counselling, Psychotherapy& Supervision.

Based in Alresford North East Hampshire in a tranquil location and within easy access of  Alton,  Fleet, Odiham,  Petersfield,  Southampton and Winchester.

I offer both short and long term work with appointments during the day and evening, in person or via remote working.

How long is the session?

Sessions are generally  for 60 minutes.

How long will the therapy continue for?

I offer both short -term work usually 4-6 sessions and also work over a longer period of time. In both instances we will review our work after the initial sessions to check that it is feeling right for you. We can discuss this further at your first session.

How much do sessions cost?

A one hour session is £60.00. Concessions are available for students or those who are unwaged. Please feel free to call and discuss.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have over 20 years experience working in private practice, the NHS, the charitable sector and further education.

I came to counselling & psychotherapy after an initial career in nursing and social work which then inspired me to train as a counsellor, psychotherapist and clinical supervisor. As a senior manager I have led teams of therapists in both adult and children’s hospices for many years, worked for 7 years as a GP surgery-based counsellor in Primary Care alongside my private practice. In addition to this I have for many years developed and delivered training courses for counsellors, volunteers and health care professionals. I also work as a supervisor with a Hampshire based bereavement charity.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
