About me
Many people reach a point where they feel overwhelmed, stuck, or simply not quite themselves, but are unsure what to do next. Taking the first step towards therapy can feel daunting, and it is completely normal to feel uncertain about what to expect. My aim is to offer a safe, supportive, and confidential space where you can talk openly and feel heard without judgement.
I am a qualified and experienced therapist who works in a flexible and collaborative way, drawing on different therapeutic approaches to best support your individual needs. This can include exploring how your thoughts affect your feelings and behaviours, creating a supportive space to better understand yourself and your experiences, and looking at how past experiences may be impacting you in the present. Your journey is unique, and my role is to work alongside you to explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences in a way that feels safe, supportive, and manageable.
I work with both adults and young people, supporting clients with a range of emotional difficulties and life challenges, including anxiety, trauma, relationship difficulties, self-confidence and self-esteem, neurodiversity, and the emotional impact of menopause. I understand that reaching out for help, or even recognising that something does not feel right, can be difficult. You do not have to face those feelings alone.
Our sessions will move at your pace, with no pressure to discuss anything before you feel ready. My role is to listen carefully, support you, and help you make sense of what you may be experiencing.
I offer both short- and long-term therapy, either face-to-face in Burford or online. I also offer an initial telephone or online consultation, giving you the opportunity to ask questions and see whether working together feels right for you.
Training, qualifications & experience
- Level 5 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling Practice
- BEd (hons) Primary
- MSc Psychology
I have worked with young people within education settings and a local charity based in Abingdon and understand the importance of providing them with a safe space to share their stories, talk openly, and feel truly listened to. This sense of safety allows them to explore and test their thoughts, express anxieties, and speak freely without fear of letting loved ones down or feeling the need to please others.
Alongside my private practice, I volunteer for Cruse as a bereavement volunteer, working with bereavement and grief. I understand that everyone's grief is different and unique. Therapy allows clients to experience and express their grief in a safe space tailored to their individual needs and at their own pace.
