About me
I’m Steve, a qualified Person-Centred counsellor working with young people (13-18 years old) and adults, in person and online. I always work collaboratively and with sensitivity and respect. My aim is to develop a relationship with my clients based on trust and to provide a calm and private space for clients to feel heard.
When we work together, my priority will be to understand your emotions, what’s going on in your life and how this is affecting you. My approach is about understanding your unique journey and to allow you to drive the change that you want to bring about.
I understand that seeking help may feel daunting so I hope to make you feel heard and supported from the outset, going at your pace and in the direction that you feel is the most helpful. My approach is not about imparting advice but more about empowering you to feel more able to find your own way of moving forward and bringing about the change you are looking for.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
Practice description
- I have a private practice, near Princes Risborough and in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire where I see clients face to face.
- I am here for whenever you feel ready to say more about what is going on for you.
- We will explore this together, free from any judgement.
My first session
I offer a 30-minute free of charge initial meeting to see whether we both think we would like to go ahead with further sessions. If we agree to do this, we can arrange longer 50-minute sessions to further explore the issues that may be bothering you. These sessions may be time-limited or more open ended based on your individual needs.
How To Book a Session
Please send a message by text or email with your name and preferred contact details and I will respond as soon as possible.
