Hi, I'm Steve and I'm a Person-Centred Counsellor

I think for most of us, life has a tendency to get overwhelming from time to time and we can feel like the support we have around us just isn't enough.

Try not to compare your struggles with others - it is important to acknowledge that your difficulties are relative to you and you alone. But if you're reading this I would hope you are already beginning to realise YOU ARE WORTH MORE THAN THE WAY YOU CURRENTLY FEEL.

When our relationship begins we will be strangers. No roles to fulfil, acts to play out or masks to wear. We have a clean slate - and this is one of the most powerful tools at our disposal.

In our sessions together, you will be offered:

Empathy and Understanding

A Non-Judgemental Atmosphere

Warmth, Honesty and Genuineness

Unconditional Positive Regard

Confidentiality

Time, Space and Calm for Reflection, Clarity of Thought and Personal Growth

Undivided Attention

It is my belief that these things combined with your best efforts to engage, are enough to set in motion positive change.

You will decide the content and pace of each session. I will not attempt to direct, advise or diagnose. Will will explore things together without external pressures or agendas for YOU ARE THE ONLY TRUE EXPERT ON YOURSELF.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and I am an Individual Member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy).

I have been in clinical contact since 2017 with a diverse range of clientele at an agency I continue to work with.

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

You can contact the counsellor to discuss the options available.
