About me

The foundation to my therapeutic work is a humanistic approach with person-centred therapy at its core. This means I hold a space for you to land safely in our sessions, creating a non-judgemental and supportive environment for you to feel truly heard and understood.

You are the expert on you, so we will work together in a way that unearths your inner world of thoughts and feelings in a direction you choose to navigate. Our sessions will always be led by you at your own pace and will only ever explore parts of your life that feels right for you in the moment.

You might be looking to explore some big feelings that you are not sure how to deal with. Perhaps you feel numb and things feel a little deeper under the surface than you'd like. Maybe it's just not clear where to start, you feel stuck and would like to talk to someone to help you gain clarity about your experience in a neutral and confidential environment. Finding the right therapist is essential in creating a therapeutic relationship for you to feel comfortable and ready to work on areas that feel most helpful to you, inviting the possibility of sustainable change and personal growth.

I have a deep understanding and grounded experience in somatic work and can integrate elements of this into our work that facilitates a body connection. These elements recognise that the body holds and expresses emotional experiences, and that working with the body can be a powerful way to address well-being challenges. It can involve somatic/psycho-education and techniques like breathwork, subtle movement and gentle enquiry to help regulate your nervous system. These tools are always just an offering should you wish to explore them together.

I am an approved professional member of the BACP. I hold comprehensive qualifications, insurance, engage in Continuous Professional Development and teach Counselling Studies.

I work with a flexible approach and focus on the client's individual needs. When we begin a journey together, we first of all establish whether weekly or bi-weekly sessions are the best fit for you. After working together for a series of sessions, single sessions (as a form of top-up therapy) can be helpful to explore a specific issue.

I work face-to-face in a private therapy cabin in the Nurture Garden at the heart of Newquay Orchard. Located just behind the Heart & Soul Café, it's a discreet yet accessible spot. Set within 7 acres of community-run land, the cabin provides the added benefit of access to peaceful outdoor spaces. Parking is free and a five minute walk from the cabin.

I work online using Zoom. Reliable wifi connection in the privacy of your own home with space and quiet to have a confidential session, is highly recommended to allow therapeutic work to take place.

I also offer walk-and-talk therapy whether that be tidal strolls or tree-lined ambles in nature. Walk and talk therapy blends traditional therapy with the natural rhythm of walking outdoors. This approach can help ease anxiety, enhance mind-body connection, and support a sense of openness that often feels more natural than sitting face-to-face in an office. Moving through nature while processing emotions can be grounding, energising, and deeply restorative.

I offer a free 30 minute initial consultation which is a relaxed meeting, inviting you to ask any questions you may have about my practise and explore what has brought you to therapy. This opportunity may help you to understand if you resonate with my approach and if you feel that we align before we begin sessions.

All sessions thereafter will be 60 mins.

Training, qualifications & experience

My journey into counselling and therapy began long before formal training rooted in a lifelong curiosity about people, behaviours, and how we make sense of our inner worlds. I originally studied a BA in Dance and Culture, with a focus on anthropology, where I explored how identity, history, and cultural expression shape who we are. That early academic path planted the seeds of my deep interest in human experience.

Alongside my professional journey as a well-being chef, I also trained as a yoga practitioner, specialising in yin and restorative practices. During this time I was inspired by the power of connecting with the deeper, often hidden parts of ourselves our instinctual, emotional, and even wild nature. Emotions don’t just live in the mind; they’re carried in the body, shaped by our histories, and woven into our unconscious. When we begin to explore and integrate these layers, we open the door to deeper self-understanding and healing.

For several years, I ran well-being retreats, which offered powerful spaces for people to reconnect to themselves through the outdoors, movement, and mindfulness. But I began to notice that something was missing a space to truly speak, to express what was happening internally, and to be heard. That absence stayed with me, and eventually became a driving force in my decision to train as a counsellor and therapist.

I began my foundation certificate in Counselling & Psychotherapy at Regent’s University London. I then completed my Level 5 Diploma in Counselling & Therapy and clinical placements with Cornwall Counselling Institute. The diploma is awarded by the University of Plymouth. My training is rooted in person-centred therapy. Today, I offer a therapeutic space where you can feel seen, heard, and accepted — just as you are.

One of my greatest sources of healing in life has been immersing myself in nature - walking, breathing, grounding, and reconnecting with something bigger than myself. Nature inspires both my personal path and my work as a therapist. I believe we are not separate from nature we are nature and that insight shapes how I see our emotional lives and human experience.

I believe that speaking with someone you trust can transform feelings of shame, loss, and emotional overwhelm into something more spacious, integrated, and healing. Therapy doesn’t promise easy answers, but it can offer something just as powerful: a place to be with what’s true, together.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
