Stacy Rowland-Jones, Dip. Psychotherapeutic Counselling. MBACP.
Hello and welcome. Thank you for taking time to look over my profile.
Life is often overwhelming, for many reasons. It can be difficult to express our feelings, make sense of what is happening to us, be truly heard so that we might explore our sense of self.
Our first steps towards counselling can seem daunting. I believe that by working together and by becoming more aware of how past experiences contribute to how we are in the present, it can lead to a deeper understanding of ourselves and others as well as providing positive coping strategies.
As a psychodynamic counsellor, I aim to provide a safe and confidential space in which you can talk about and explore your thoughts and feelings, without judgement.
The relationship that is built within therapy is fundamental and a genuine, respectful environment is essential in working towards a positive outcome.
I am a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and as such, I abide by the BACP's ethical framework.
I receive professional supervision on all aspects of my practice. I also have an Enhanced DBS check (Disclosure & Barring Service).
I have experience working as a school counsellor, within an adult counselling service run by a charity organisation and within the NHS. I am committed to ongoing training and development to ensure that I am constantly developing and enhancing the way in which I work.
My private practice is situated on the Ladygrove Estate in Didcot, Oxfordshire. (Please note that there is a step up to my office).
If you would like to learn more about my service or would like to know more about sessions, please do call or email me.

- Certificate in Counselling
- Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling
- Introductory Transactional Analysis 101 course
- BACP Certificate of proficiency
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
