About me

Hello. I'm Sophie, an integrative counsellor offering a range of therapeutic support for individuals looking for help to make changes in their lives. Perhaps your struggling with anxiety or low mood that's affecting the way you live your life, or struggling with relationships, life or career transitions and unsure what the future holds? Perhaps your exploring neurodiversity or coming to terms with recent diagnosis and reflecting on how this is impacting your life? Whatever you are facing, I offer a warm, non judgemental space where you can be met with compassion and calm to work through your challenges and find a path forward.

I'm an integrative counsellor also offering hypnotherapy & coaching too. I tailor my sessions to meet your specific needs with a mix of talking therapy (CBT/Psychodynamic/Person Centred), psychoeducation and relaxation so you can work through problems at your own pace, and also learn tools & coping strategies to support you now and in the future too.

Taking the first step is often hard. I offer a calm, non judgemental space where you will be met with kindness and compassion. When you get in touch the first step is a no obligation introduction call to explore what you are looking for and how I can help. I'm also happy to answer initial questions over email if that's helpful too.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

I also have a special interest in working with neurodiversity and have take additional CPD to develop my skills and experience alongside client work in this area. I have worked with ADHD and Autism whether diagnosed or suspected, and with families exploring diagnosis for children. I'm familiar with co-existing conditions and work with clients to support them with a range of presenting issues they may wish to work through. We can also discuss any adaptations that need to be in place to support neurodiverse clients, please just let me know when we start work together if you'd like to discuss this.
