About me

Hi, I’m Sophie, an Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist based in London. I am currently offering private sessions remotely, via Zoom or telephone. I hold a Master's Degree in Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy and am Accredited with the BACP.

Whether you've been struggling for a while, or if an unexpected life event has hit you hard, taking the time to talk, process, and reflect can help you make sense of how you’re feeling, equipping you with the tools and mechanisms to make changes and move forward.

When working with clients, I do not believe there is a ‘one size fits all’ approach. Having trained and practiced across different therapeutic models and techniques, I am able to facilitate a flexible approach that can be tailored to your individual needs and preferences. I view a warm, holding, and collaborative therapeutic relationship as central to our work together, and provide a non-judgemental, engaged space for you to be heard. Together, we will work together to help you gain insight into what might be causing pain or feelings of being stuck, and move towards understanding and fulfilment.

Testimonials

'Sophie has been a real rock for me over the past year and a half. She’s been non-judgemental, kind and supportive and I feel like a different person to when I first started therapy with her. I’m actually really sad that I won’t be speaking to her weekly anymore, but she’s given me the confidence to continue on my own! I will really miss her, but won’t ever forget how much she’s helped me in this next chapter of my life.' CM

'After almost exactly one year of working with Sophie, the shift in my sense of self feels equally as subtle as it does momentous. We have slowly painted colour back into the minutiae of everyday life, focussing on being present and fulfilled, as well as building on my own confidence to handle the normal highs and lows of adulthood. Thank you for everything Sophie.' KN

'I've worked with Sophie for the past year to work through some old rubbish that was affecting my current relationship and career. We used a range of techniques rather than adhering to a single approach, depending on what was required. I've found Sophie approachable but didn't shy away from asking difficult questions. She recalled a lot of detail and was able to refer to it during our sessions so that she could point to it as example without referring to notes - it made the conversations feel really organic and specific, rather than generic. In future, if I need to speak to someone, I will reach out to Sophie again.' CH

'I had a really positive experience attending sessions with Sophie. I was able to discuss and come to terms with some difficult events from my past. More widely Sophie helped me develop a more holistic, resilient, and caring mindset to towards myself and any daily stressors I may face.'  AV

'Sophie has been extremely helpful through my healing process, and journey towards growth and acceptance. Sophie is a great listener and never failed to make me feel safe and understood. She also always ensured that the space we shared during therapy was a judgement free zone where I could discuss my experiences without any fear. Sophie was exceptional and I’m really grateful for the time we shared!' SVM

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
