About me

Hi, I’m Sophie. I work in Leicester city centre and offer in person, long term therapy.

Starting therapy can be daunting and confusing, particularly if you haven’t had therapy before so I hope to make it feel as safe and easy as possible. There are various approaches to therapy, and I work psychodynamically which for me, is about creating a consistent and reliable space where we can think about you and your experience.

People come to therapy for many reasons. Perhaps you feel unbalanced or anxious. Maybe you have suffered a loss, feel lonely or you feel lost. You could be wanting to explore an experience that feels stuck or painful, or you may be unsure of what you need at all. Whatever brings you to therapy, my aim is to provide a safe and comfortable space for us to develop a trusting relationship and explore what feels important to you.

What to expect?
Sessions are 50 minutes long and take place at the same time and place each week. My fee is £50 per session, concessions for low income and/or students are available but limited.

Once you get in touch, we can discuss availability and arrange an initial assessment. This gives us a chance to meet, talk a little about what brings you to therapy, and for you to ask any questions you may have.

I am qualified in psychodynamic therapy and continue to engage in ongoing training and supervision. I am fully insured and a member of NCPS which is a professional body that ensures through their codes that I work ethically and inline with professional standards.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a Diploma in Psychodynamic Therapy and have over 4 years of experience working professionally with adults. I engage in ongoing training (CPD) with particular focus on areas such as trauma, neurodiversity and relational work, and I am committed to continual learning and development. My practice is supported by regular supervision and professional support, ensuring my work remains reflective, ethical and grounded.
