About me
Do you find yourself lying awake at night, overwhelmed by thoughts about work, relationships, anxiety, or personal challenges? Or maybe these worries are impacting your daily life? If so, know you're not alone. Many people experience feelings of being low, lacking energy, struggling to concentrate, or facing low self-esteem.
Perhaps you're at a crossroads in your life, unsure of the next step? Talking to someone impartial can be both helpful and empowering. It’s a brave decision to seek support, and I’m here to listen. If you're ready to explore these feelings together, I encourage you to take that step.
I pride myself on being empathetic, supportive, and friendly. I have a genuine interest in your journey and believe that you hold resources within yourself to achieve your goals. Together, we can explore these strengths and unlock your potential in a safe, non-judgmental space.
I have experience addressing a range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, loss and grief, domestic abuse, relationship issues, low self-esteem, confidence, neurodiversity, as well as matters of gender and identity. To better understand how I can help you with your challenges, take a look at the 'services' page on my website, which gives more details on how therapy can support you. There is also a dedicated section on how it can help manage anxiety.
I offer counselling services to adults both face-to-face and online. Additionally, I work in person with children aged 14 and older. The duration of counselling can be tailored to your individual needs—whether you prefer short-term support or a longer-term approach. I am also fully trained in safeguarding protocols for both adults and young people.
In addition to my private practice, I provide counselling services at the Priory. I have previously offered bereavement support to children through a local charity and supported students at a sixth-form college, helping them navigate their emotional challenges.
Please call, text or email me to arrange an appointment. I will always respond to your enquiry. Please be aware that at times my email response may land in your spam folder. So if you think I’ve not responded, please check your spam folder. I look forward to hearing from you. Best wishes, Sophie

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
