About me

EQUINE- ASSISTED THERAPY & ROOM-BASED THERAPY.

"Sophie made me feel genuinely understood and supported from the start. Her calm, caring approach helped me open up about things I'd never shared before."

Do you feel like your mind never shuts off, constantly replaying conversations, worrying about things that haven’t even happened yet, and struggling to find a moment of calm? These can be signs of anxiety, which often bring persistent worry, tension, and a sense of overwhelm, even when there’s no immediate danger.

You don’t have to navigate this alone. Together, we’ll discover practical ways to quiet your mind, build your confidence, and help you feel more grounded, present, and connected to yourself and others.

I support clients with a diverse range of issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, low self-esteem, sensory processing challenges, and relationship difficulties. With a warm, non-judgmental space, I can help you explore your feelings and develop strengths for positive change.

Is the thought of sitting in a room face-to-face with a counsellor daunting? Well, I have just the thing for you. Equine-assisted therapy is an experiential approach using structured interactions with horses to foster emotional resilience, self-awareness, and personal growth. These gentle, hands-on sessions are available for both individuals and groups, including corporate days, making them suitable for children, adolescents, adults, and workplace teams seeking new ways to connect, de-stress, and build confidence in a supportive environment. Sessions focus on building a connection with horses, providing immediate, non-judgmental feedback and a nurturing space to explore feelings and develop coping strategies

I offer counselling in-person, online, and via telephone, providing you with flexible options that fit your lifestyle.

I know that reaching out for help can be daunting, which is why I offer a free, no-obligation 20-minute phone call. This allows us to get to know each other and determine if we’re the right fit.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
