About me

I offer face to face sessions to people who are looking for support through talking therapy. Our sessions will be based out of my private room in Greengates, which is easily accessible from Leeds and Bradford.

You might be struggling with anxiety, anger or depression? Perhaps issues from your past keep resurfacing and you're looking for a way to move forward? Maybe you feel out of sorts or feel different to the people around you? Maybe there is a recent significant event that you would like to process in a safe environment with a professional?

As your therapist it is my responsibility to provide you with the right conditions to grow in the ways that you want to and live a life more in line with your values. My role involves holding a non-pathologising and non-judgemental perspective that can help you to make sense of your experiences, strengthen your sense of self and find new ways of being in the world.

My approach is holistic, collaborative and respectful with a focus on working with you to find the answers you might be looking for. I believe that different people need different things at different points in their life and as such I will work with you flexibly and create an approach that suits your needs, circumstances and life experiences. I work with clients from a range of backgrounds and am particularly passionate about supporting people in LGBTQ+ and Neurodiverse communities.

Choosing a therapist is a very personal decision. Finding someone that you feel comfortable with is an important part of your process and as such I invite you to consider if my therapy services might be the help you need.

If you would like to arrange a brief call before booking an appointment to discuss any questions you might have, or to get a sense of me as a person then please feel free to get in touch by mobile or email and we can arrange this.

How counselling can help

It might be difficult to believe that talking therapy could work. My experience, both personally and professionally has shown that when people are offered a space in which to openly explore their concerns with compassion and safety they can find profound comfort and healing in this. Talking through your experiences is often the first step towards making them more manageable. Having someone who truly listens join you in a real and in-depth conversation in this way can provide unique insights that help you to develop your self awareness and understanding of yourself

Many people find it helpful to have an initial discussion either in person or over the phone to see if we would be a good fit to work together. If we decide to go forward, I can support you in exploring what might be concerning you in a way that feels safe to you. I will listen carefully whilst acknowledging that there are no easy answers. Together, we can explore what those answers might be by leaning into your emotions, understanding your values, finding meaning and recognising patterns that may no longer serve you, and the ones that do.

Giving yourself this space and time to be heard can help you to feel valued, think more clearly, strengthen your sense of self and find more fulfilment in your life.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
