About me

*I currently have a few available slots to see new clients face-to-face and online*

Hello and thank you for visiting my profile!

Counselling or psychotherapy can help at points in our lives when we have particular difficulties. Common issues which I can offer help with include feeling low, depressed, lonely, stressed or anxious, relationship difficulties, family issues, issues from childhood, loss, a history of abuse and low self-esteem and confidence. We can work together to understand the causes of the issue and find ways to cope and manage challenging thoughts and feelings.

I offer a free initial consultation, up to 15 minutes, to get an overview of what brings you to therapy, and for you to get a sense of who I am. I can answer any questions that you may have about the process or how I work. If you feel that I am the right therapist for you and wish to continue and see me for therapy, we will book an assessment session.

My experience

I have worked with clients of all ages, including adults from 18-70+, as well as young people from 11-17 years old. I have more than seven years of experience working in mental health, four of which were in the NHS. Also, I have worked for a charity for young people (11-25 year olds) and a homeless charity.

My approach to psychotherapy and what I offer

My approach to psychotherapy includes shared-decision making and a focus on your goals and what you want to achieve from the therapy. I work in an integrative way and adapt the therapy to your individual needs. I provide a confidential and non-judgemental space, where clients feels safe, respected and valued.

I am qualified in delivering a number of models of therapy. I give a brief overview below. You can read more about these therapies under 'Therapies offered' section at the bottom of my profile.

CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) involves understanding how your thoughts and behaviour can affect the way you feel and act.

Psychodynamic therapy explores how past experiences can impact your current thoughts and experiences and aims to bring the unconscious into conscious awareness.

Person-centred therapy sees humans as having an innate tendency to develop towards their full potential. The therapist understands the clients experience from their perspective.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) helps people to recover from traumatic events in their lives

Walk and talk therapy - this can be by the river, in the local area or in Old Deer park.

I offer both short-term and long-term therapy. I can see you for therapy face-to-face, online or over the phone, depending on what your preference is.  Please contact me if you have any questions or wish to arrange an initial consultation.
