About me

Hello and welcome. I'm a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor in private practice. I offer long- and short-term counselling to adults of all walks of life.
Whether you are experiencing stress and anxiety caused by recent events, or you're haunted by childhood trauma, if you've suffered from  abuse, we can certainly work on it together.

Positive changes are possible, you only need to take a first step. You might be surprised how much resilience and strength you discover within yourself. As a therapist I can help you to begin seeing things realistically, setting more achievable goals, to understand your anxiety and learn to deal with it, to improve your mood and lead a more enjoyable, fulfilling life.

I specialize in working with childhood trauma (physycal, sexual, emotional abuse and neglect, loss of a loved one, separation), anxiety, stress and depression. I work with self-devaluation, helping you improve your self-esteem and feel more comfortable with yourself. I work with identity issues set by disfiguring conditions and other traumatic events. I'm proud to support parents of disabled children, and people affected by alopecia.

I prefer not to mystify the process of counselling, but make you aware why I ask certain questions, and why I say what I say. In other words, I try to help you understand the process, so that you could understand yourself better.

In the first session I'll ask you to compete a brief questionnaire, and we'll sign the contract. This is a good time to ask any questions in regards to the contract, or the process itself.

My practice is located in Chichester, postal area PO19,  walking distance from the city centre. Ample free street parking is available. I also work online via Skype.
The counselling room is private and comfortable. Please arrive on the hour, or a couple of minutes before the session time.

I understand that making this decision might be difficult and anxiety provoking, and I appreciate and admire your courage.

If this is what you're looking for, please get in touch, and we can arrange our first session. I'm looking forward to working with you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
