About me
I am a UKCP registered Psychotherapist and Counsellor working in West and North West London.
I work in an integrative way that draws on a range of theoretical approaches and skills to work with your individual needs and tailor the therapy to you. I place emphasis on a safe, empathic and collaborative therapeutic space, valuing the unique therapeutic relationship that can develop with each individual.
I do not believe that one type of person or life is less important or valid than another, and I do not sit in judgement according to race, gender, sexuality, dis/ability or other beliefs.
Why choose therapy?
Sometimes we encounter problems that can feel insurmountable and we find ourselves suffering and feeling stuck or overwhelmed. For some, the cause may be a specific event or transition in life. At other times, the roots of our struggles may seem vague, experienced through repeating patterns in our lives, depression, anxiety, unhealthy relationships or addictions.
Such experiences can be a call for us to look within, to expand our level of awareness and enable new modes of being that allow us to build deeper, more meaningful relationships with ourselves and others.
Psychotherapy is a relational journey in which client and therapist work together to foster insight and understanding, to ease suffering and to recover a life of meaning, authenticity and connection. Often people find that simply being able to speak of something in complete confidence for the first time results in a considerable lessening of anxiety.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a Masters in Psychotherapy, a postgraduate diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling from the Institute of Psychosynthesis, London, and am UKCP registered. I previously gained a postgraduate diploma in Counselling and hold a BSc degree in Psychology.
I have been in private practice since 2015, working with clients experiencing a wide range of difficulties, from anxiety, depression and relationship issues to addictions, eating disorders and complex PTSD. I work with both long and short-term clients, though I aim to build a long-term therapeutic relationship with my clients.
In addition to my private practice, I have over 8 years experience of working within various mental health charities. I also have a background in teaching meditation and yoga.
I am professionally insured, receive regular clinical supervision, and adhere to the UKCP’s code of ethics and principles for approved professional practice.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
