A warm welcome to my profile.
I have over 14 years experience of working with adults and young people from all walks of life in various settings such as local secondary schools and the NHS .
Whatever it is that has brought you to seek out counselling my aim is to offer a safe haven for you to reflect and explore any thoughts and feelings that are concerning you and to work with you to find some clarity and peace of mind .
Talking to a professionally trained counsellor who is outside of your every day life can be really helpful for some people at certain times in their lives.
The service I offer is confidential and you will never have to talk about things that you do not wish to talk about my aim is to provide somewhere that feels welcoming , down to earth and safe
You may be coming to see me with a specific issue such as a recent break up, bereavement or work stress or it may be an issue that has been around for a long time such as anxiety or low self-esteem.
I provide both long and short term counselling.
I offer a 60 minute assessment session where you can share what has brought you to counselling and what you are hoping to get from coming .
During this time you can get a feel for how I work and we can decide whether I am the right match for you as choosing someone you feel comfortable with is really important to successful outcomes.
There is no obligation to come back after the first session
Some of the issues that I have worked with are
Self-criticising ( nothing you do feels good enough)
Bereavement and Loss
Anger issues (with self or others)
Loss of direction
Life Transitions- 'Empty Nest' syndrome, retirement , leaving home for university
Please contact me if you would like to meet for an informal assessment at a mutually convenient time.
