About me

Are you struggling right now?

Maybe things have been difficult for a while, or maybe life has taken an unexpected turn that's making it harder to cope. You might be experiencing anxiety or low mood, feeling disconnected from the world around you.

Perhaps you find yourself circling the same thoughts and wondering what needs to change, unsure of what comes next.

It can be isolating to live like this. By reaching out, you’re acknowledging that what you're feeling matters, and that you don’t have to carry it all on your own.

I’m an experienced counsellor with a calm, thoughtful approach. My role is to help you see yourself and your situation more clearly, so things start to make sense and feel more manageable.

I’ll listen closely and respond honestly, offering reflections that bring what’s beneath the surface into view and helping you untangle what’s keeping you stuck.

We’ll work at your pace, following what feels meaningful for you. You don’t have to prepare or know exactly where to start.

What People Say About Working With Me

"I always found our sessions were a very non-judgemental space that made me feel safe and listened to."

"He helped me bring to the forefront of my mind the strength inside myself that I had thought I'd lost."

"Simon really helped to support me and provided much needed stability during my time as a university student, and I found all our sessions incredibly valuable."

"I wouldn’t hesitate in highly recommending Simon. In my mind talking is essential to change and recovery, I’m really glad I was brave and sought the help I needed."

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

I am a neurodiversity-affirming practitioner.

If you’re neurodivergent or think you might be, you might want to explore how autism, ADHD, or other parts of your identity shape the way you experience and are met by the world.

You may have been misunderstood — in work, in relationships, in everyday moments. Over time, you might have learnt to perform a version of yourself that helps you get by, even if it doesn’t always feel true or sustainable.

You might want to look at how you find your own ways of creating, connecting, or finding balance.

Or you may simply want a space where you don’t have to translate yourself. Somewhere to make sense of things on your own terms.
