About me
Purple Willow Therapy is an online counselling practice offering a safe, confidential and welcoming space for adults to talk about whatever is troubling them.
I understand that making the decision to contact a therapist can feel daunting. You may know exactly what you want help with, or you may simply know that things aren’t feeling right. There is no need to have everything worked out before you get in touch.
Sessions take place online, giving you the opportunity to talk from somewhere you feel comfortable and private. We can arrange regular sessions at a frequency that feels appropriate for you, and I’ll explain everything clearly before we begin so you know what to expect.
My particular area of interest is supporting adults experiencing gender incongruity, gender dysphoria, or questioning aspects of their gender identity. You may be exploring who you are, struggling with dysphoria, considering transition, unsure about transition, or dealing with the impact that these experiences are having on your relationships, confidence or day-to-day life. You are welcome at Purple Willow regardless of where you are in that process.
I also offer counselling for a range of other difficulties, including anxiety, depression, grief and bereavement, loneliness, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, stress, life changes and feeling overwhelmed.
I aim to make Purple Willow a place where you can speak honestly without worrying about being judged or having to present yourself in a particular way. What you bring to therapy is yours to explore, and I’ll work alongside you with openness, respect and compassion.
If you decide to get in touch, we’ll start with a conversation about what has brought you to therapy and whether you feel I might be the right person to work with. Finding the right therapist matters, and there is no pressure to make a commitment before you’re ready.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
