About me

Hi, I'm Sian, a qualified therapist offering online counselling to adults struggling with anxiety, low self-worth, and the effects of difficult or toxic family relationships.

Although I work online, I'm based in Stourbridge and support clients across the West Midlands and beyond.

Many of the people I work with have spent years people pleasing and putting others first.  They worry constantly about what others think of them, feel responsible for other people's emotions, and find it incredibly hard to say no.  Guilt can feel never ending, and anxiety feels overwhelming.

I often work with people who find it really hard to put themselves first.  They constantly find themselves worrying what others think about them, and end up putting everyone else's needs before their own.  They find it incredibly hard to say no, and end up feeling really guilty if they do, often feeling responsible for the emotions of others.  Counselling can help you to break this cycle.

You might recognise patterns of people-pleasing, self-doubt or feeling like 'it must be me'.  Sometimes this includes navigating toxic family dynamics.

By the time you reach out for counselling, you may feel exhausted, stuck, or unsure of who you are anymore.  You may have tried coping alone or talking to friends, but still feel that something deeper needs attention.  Therapy can offer a space where you are finally allowed to be the focus.

How counselling can help

Anxiety can be exhausting.  It often shows up as overthinking, self-questioning, fear of getting things wrong, or dreading certain situations.  It can also affect the body; disrupted sleep, headaches, digestive issues, and the constant sense of tension and unease.

In counselling we can explore where these patterns come from, how they may have helped you cope in the past, and how they might now be holding you back.  Therapy can support you to:

  • reduce anxiety and emotional overwhelm
  • build healthier boundaries without overwhelming guilt
  • develop self-worth that isn't dependent on the approval of others
  • break people pleasing patterns
  • make sense of difficult family relationships
  • feel more confident, grounded and emotionally steady

I work in a warm, compassionate, and non-judgemental way aiming to create a space where you feel safe, understood, and and able to explore things at your own pace.

My passion for counselling is shaped by both professional training and lived experience of anxiety and depression.  This allows me to understand not just the theory, but the emotional reality of how overwhelming and isolating these struggles can feel.  I bring this understanding into my work with care, empathy, and respect for each individual's journey.

Practical information

I offer a free, no-obligation 15 minute introductory call so we can talk through what you're hoping to gain from counselling and see whether I'm the right fit for you.

Sessions are offered online (zoom, teams, whatsapp) during weekday day times with some limited evening availability.
