About me
To provide support during the current coronavirus pandemic I am offering sessions over the phone, via Skype and WhatsApp. Please contact me if you have any questions about remote sessions and how we can make remote therapy work for you.
Would you get a medal for your anxiety if there was one? Is a relationship fizzling out and leaving you feeling uncertain? Or has depression drained all the colour out of your life along with your self-esteem? Life can be a rocky road for most of us, so having the opportunity to tell your story, gain insight, clarity and a fresh perspective can be a welcome relief.
I am an experienced counsellor, psychotherapist and coach with many years of experience in helping people achieve optimal emotional wellbeing. I have worked with organisations including Mind, Samaritans, Family Centres, Adult Continuing Education, Social Services and across the voluntary sector.
My established private practice is in a tranquil setting in the heart of Winchester with parking near by and good public transport links. A confidential, safe space for individuals and couples to explore thoughts, feelings and emotions to obtain some clarity over them. I am also able to offer home visits within a 30 mile radius of Winchester, within Hampshire, if this is preferred.
I offer a service that's trustworthy, confidential and beneficial for you. I am an upbeat, insightful, approachable person and we will be working together towards positive change.
As well as one to one sessions I also run workshops including, improving your confidence, assertiveness techniques, how to lift depression, dealing with anxiety, anger management and laughter therapy workshops.
As a registered member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) I work within the BACP Ethical framework.
Take a look around my website www.talktoshirley.co.uk, or give me a call on 07846 729042 you have nothing to lose except how you feel right now about yourself and your life.

With an Enhanced DBS, I have qualifications across the spectrum of counselling, psychotherapy and coaching. Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
