BACP-registered psychotherapist

About me

You might look like you’re doing well on the outside, but inside you feel anxious, overwhelmed, burnt out or stuck. Perhaps you’re constantly putting pressure on yourself, struggling with confidence, navigating difficult relationships, or questioning what you actually want from your life.

I work primarily with women, young adults and professionals who want to understand themselves more deeply and feel more grounded, confident and connected. I have a particular interest in supporting South Asian and Muslim women navigating identity, family expectations, relationships, culture and the tension between who they are and who they feel expected to be.

I’m Fabbiha, a BACP-registered psychotherapist with over seven years’ experience across NHS, community, specialist and private mental health settings. Alongside my private practice, I am completing a Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology.

I offer warm, collaborative online therapy where you can explore what’s happening without judgement. I won't tell you who you should be or give you a list of things you need to fix. Instead, we'll work together to understand what's happening for you, where it comes from and what you might need to move forward.

How I can help

You might come to therapy because you're experiencing:

  • Anxiety, overthinking or feeling constantly on edge
  • Burnout, exhaustion or work-related stress
  • Perfectionism and pressure to achieve
  • Low confidence or self-esteem
  • Feeling stuck or uncertain about your direction
  • Difficulties with relationships, boundaries or family expectations
  • Life transitions and changes
  • Identity, cultural or racial experiences
  • Feeling caught between different parts of yourself
  • Experiences of discrimination or not feeling that you belong
  • Career uncertainty or feeling unfulfilled despite being successful
  • The emotional impact of difficult or overwhelming experiences

You don't need to have a diagnosis or know exactly what's wrong before starting therapy. Sometimes you simply know that something doesn't feel right anymore.

A particular interest in Muslim and South Asian women's experiences

Our identities and relationships with family, culture, religion and wider society can profoundly shape how we understand ourselves.

For some Muslim and South Asian women, therapy can feel complicated. You may have grown up navigating expectations around family, marriage, achievement, gender roles, religion or community, while also trying to work out your needs and what you want. You may find yourself questioning where your own values end and other people's expectations begin.

I offer a space where these experiences can be explored openly and thoughtfully, without assumptions or judgement. You don't have to explain, minimise or defend the cultural or religious context of your experiences.

My approach

I work integratively, drawing on relational, psychodynamic, CBT and acceptance-based approaches. This means that we'll look not only at what's happening in the present, but also at the patterns, relationships and experiences that may have shaped how you see yourself and relate to others. Above all, the relationship we build in therapy is important to me.

I believe that people generally do the best they can with what they have learned and experienced. Therapy isn't about judging those adaptations. It's about understanding them, deciding whether they still serve you, and creating space for something different.

What therapy with me is like

I want therapy to feel like a place where you don’t have to perform, but to be your authentic self. You don't need to arrive with everything figured out, and you don't need to perform being "okay". I invite you to bring the parts of yourself that feel messy, contradictory, uncomfortable or difficult to put into words. I'll listen carefully, ask questions and sometimes gently challenge you when I think it could be helpful. We'll work collaboratively rather than me simply telling you what to do.

Training, qualifications & experience

My qualifications include:

  • Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology - expected completion 2027
  • MSc Clinical Neuropsychiatry
  • Counselling Certificate
  • BSc Psychology

I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and a Graduate Member of the British Psychological Society (GMBPsS).

I have over 7 years’ experience working across NHS, specialist, third-sector and community mental health settings. My clinical experience spans NHS Talking Therapies, Cancer Psychology, community mental health, acute and forensic services, and specialist therapeutic settings, giving me experience supporting people with a wide range of psychological difficulties and life circumstances.

I am currently completing a Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology, with expected completion in 2027. My training has included extensive clinical experience, psychological theory, research and therapeutic practice, alongside ongoing professional development.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Not sure if therapy with me would be the right fit?
That's completely okay.

I offer a free 15-minute consultation with no obligation to continue. It's simply an opportunity to tell me a little about what's bringing you to therapy, ask any questions you might have and get a sense of what it might be like to work together.

You don't need to have the right words or know exactly what you need help with.

If you think I might be the right therapist for you, please get in touch. I'd be very happy to hear from you.
