About me

Hi and thank you for viewing my profile.  My name is Seema. I'm a qualified and registered BACP psychotherapist. You’ve probably been thinking for a while about receiving counselling, scrolling through many profiles trying to decide who to see, when to start, perhaps you’re feeling nervous about embarking on a journey of self-healing and discovery. Rest assured, I’m on your side. Whether life lies heavy or you’re feeling out of sync or overwhelmed by events from the past affecting the present, perhaps you want someone to simply just hear you out and understand your perspective, to believe you. I’m right here. I will accept you fully for who you are, allowing you to be your true self in a calming safe space. I am an integrative counsellor; which means I have a person-centred foundation and then flow seamlessly between various psychotherapeutic approaches (cognitive, psychodynamic, existential) in order to achieve the best possible outcome for you. My approach to counselling is that every human is a unique individual and there is no ‘one size fits all’. I will listen to you, value you and we will work in tandem together because ultimately, the therapeutic alliance between us is paramount.  You’ve already taken the first step in reading my profile, so with this courage contact me and let’s work together.

I work online, face-to-face and by telephone

After making contact with me, I provide a free initial telephone/online (zoom/google) chat with you. This is for me to find out what your needs and expectations are and what you would like to focus on; it’s also an opportunity for you to ask me questions and, if you are happy for us to work together, for us to then determine the best day and time for your sessions.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
