About me

Hello!

I am a qualified counsellor and a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), based in South Wales.

I believe every person is doing the best they can with the tools they have. Sometimes those tools are not quite enough for the challenges they face. Given the right environment, time, and support, a person can develop new tools, grow, adapt, and learn to trust themselves again.

That’s what I would hope to provide for you: a space where you can work out what tools you need, and what direction you want your life to take.

A client once asked me why I chose this line of work. I found the answer came easily:

“I have a lot of faith in people.”

Therapy is about working out who you authentically are. It's about building that inner trust and allowing it to guide you forward.

Maybe you need time to work out what those tools are. Perhaps you need somewhere to vent and rant. Perhaps you need the stability of a regular weekly hour where you can be the focus. Maybe you need to discover what prioritizing yourself really means.

You’ve already taken the first step by being on this website. The next step is to find the right counsellor. Pop me an email and let's see if we can work together.

Training, qualifications & experience

One on One, Person Centred Counselling

I was primarily trained in Person-Centred Therapy (PCT), an approach built on one core belief: the only true expert on you is you.

Only you can fully understand your thoughts, feelings, experiences, and memories. PCT trusts that you have the capacity to find your own answers, but self-reflection and self-trust can be hard to approach alone.

My role is to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore who you are and what matters to you. Lasting change begins with understanding and accepting yourself.

In this style of counselling, you won’t be judged, interrupted, lectured, or spoken down to. I may ask open questions to help you reflect more deeply, but the journey is yours.

Where there might once have been shame, there can be curiosity. Where there was repression, there can be exploration.

And from there, you can begin to ask:

“Am I living in a way which is deeply satisfying to me, and which truly expresses me?”

- Carl Rogers

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Get in Contact

If you feel this might be the right fit for you, you can get in touch using this site or by emailing me here.

You can also text or WhatsApp me on: 07867108451.

Before our first session, I like to arrange a brief call: no longer than 20 minutes. This gives you a chance to share a little about what you'd like to bring to sessions, and to ask any questions you may have.

This consultation is free of charge.

If I feel that I am not the right person to support the issues you want to explore, I will let you know and do my best to refer you to someone who can. Your safety and wellbeing are always my top priorities.

If we decide to move forward, I will send you a copy of my counselling contract. You are welcome to read through it in your own time, and we will go over it together in our first session before you sign.

I aim to reply to all emails within 72 hours. If I am away, I will make sure an out-of-office reply is in place with details of when I will be back.
